Position Summary:
The Operations Manager is responsible for coordinating and managing all necessary resources for the production components of the business, from booking through closeout. The Operations Manager shall ensure that customer expectations and budgetary guidelines are met or exceeded. He/She will oversee the management of all projects from beginning to end including: budget, costs, schedule, risk management, insurances, general work performance and quality, and overall progress against the plan.
The Operations Manager is accountable to the executive leadership of the Company and is responsible for the Company’s success including the achievement of the Company’s goals and profit targets.
The successful candidate will also work with leadership to promote business development and growth and will have experience and capabilities in the following:
- Principles and processes for providing customer services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
- Business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, and coordination of people and resources.
- Developing and building teams by encouraging and building mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members.
- Monitoring and controlling resources through effective oversight and tracking of spending for operational and project level budgets.
- Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself and others to make improvements or take corrective action.
- Mature Leader able to accept complete ownership of an extremely fast paced Production Department; with ability to keep their thumb on the pulse of everything going on in the department and enjoys it!
Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day operations to ensure quality services to clients and our diverse construction partners.
- Provide leadership and meet with subordinate managers to ensure operational efficiency, quality, service, and cost-effective management of resources.
- Work collaboratively with Project Managers to develop schedules, work plans, and sub contractor staffing plans for projects.
- Extensive Pre-Construction experience to ensure a smooth transition to onsite operations through the course of construction and closeout, including identification, management, and mitigation of risk.
- Accept ownership while working with staff to prioritize workloads in order to meet project objectives.
- Foster and enforce a culture of safety ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local safety laws and regulations.
- Assist in vision and leadership by identifying new clients and opportunities.
- Ensure business objectives by providing direction and oversight to staff.
- Plan, develop, and implement strategies for generating resources and/or revenues for the company.
- Motivate employees and build effective interdisciplinary teams.
- Work with project teams to ensure adherence to project budgets and optimize processes to achieve greater operational effectiveness.
- Track revenue and profit goals for projects.
- Establish and review performance metrics and ensure status is accurately reported.
- Build positive and productive working relationships with the customer base to ensure customer needs are met or exceeded.
- Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers by addressing issues, questions, or concerns in a timely manner.
- Effective time management skills and ability to juggle competing priorities that come with a field/office focused position. Understanding and ability to run projects and crews showing a lead by example style.
Qualifications
- 5-10 years restoration construction experience
- 5-10 years management experience
- 5-10 years Project Management and Estimating experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or related experience
- Experienced at reading, interpreting and managing financial statements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to lead, mentor and bring a diverse group of people together to work effectively
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one, small or large group situations to customers, homeowners and employees in the organization
- It is expected that the candidate will have established a proven track record of success in a senior operational management role.
- Experience in a highly complex environment.
- The selected candidate should have extensive and in-depth industry-related experience, with several years of experience in the management and execution of major residential construction projects.
- He/she must demonstrate the leadership skills required to drive continuous improvement of processes which maximize the customer’s experience.
- Must have great attention to detail, be an established leader, a team player, and willing to mentor subordinates. Must also be a solid communicator, with the ability to communicate with all levels within the organization.
- Ability to lead an organization by financial objectives while maintaining existing budgets.

Required: High technical expertise and ability to utilize this experience in all phases of the project operations oversight: scope review, pre-construction process, installation crew labor administration, start up to close out, and collections.
- Demonstrated ability to solve problems and make prudent decisions
- Strong knowledge of MS Office, RMS and Xactimate
- IICRC Certifications
Education:
- Candidates require a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in construction or related field with 5 or more years of relevant leadership experience.
- 5 or more years leading and managing teams as a Operations Manager or Senior Project Manager.
- MA CSL License (desired)
Job Type: Full-time
Base Pay: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year + commission
